You would think it might be easy to book a flight via internet or directly on the counter… especially if you own an international credit card. But hey it ´s not so easy… right after work I went with 3 friends to the airport to the AIR Deccan counter to buy a ticket to Kerala. I thought I was prepared having the amount in cash and a credit card as well. We stood for an hour in the queue when finally the Air Deccan guy told us that they only accept credit cards… oh well I thought… no problem. So I gave him my credit card. No, no… no international credit cards allowed and no cash either… ok, well how in the hell should be pay then?! We were desperate and confused, especially cuz Y. had bought a ticket from Air Deccan 2 days earlier and paid in cash! So then we called the Air Deccan helpline, the friendly guy on the phone told us: of course will Air Deccan take cash and international credit cards! And yes on every counter they should do the same! Ok ok, so we handed the phone over to the guy behind the counter… but it was all for nothing cuz he still wouldn´t take our money. To drive to the main Air Deccan office would have been an option, had it not been 45 minutes away and so already closed. While waiting, suddenly we were surrounded by thick clouds of pestizide that someone was spraying against mosquitos. there was no espace. i don´t wanna know how toxic this substance was! Finally we found a very nice Indian guy who paid with his credit card for all four of us. We gave him the amount in cash… what a undertaking to book a flight!
